| Lorelei Lindigast is a powerful political leader in eastern Torre. She was a member of the House of Heads, co-founded the Magic Council under the High Court, and later went on to found her current organization, the Lindigast Company. She is best known as one of the first people to widely publicize the truth about the nature of Demons as a consensual fusion of Humans and Spirits, rather than a malevolent Spiritual possession of a human corpse (as was the widespread belief at the time). | Lorelei Lindigast is a powerful political leader in eastern Torre. | During her rise to prominence in the House of Heads, Lindigast's origins were shrouded in mystery. She was incredibly private about her personal life, and chose only to expound upon her professional and academic exploits. Though it was believed for a long time that Lindigast was born in the Fens, she was actually born and raised in Old Stormloch. Her family situation is unknown, though many believe at least one of her parents died during the Incursion War while she was a teenager. However, this was made especially hard to predict during her time in the House of Heads and the High Court because nobody knew Lindigast's exact age. The only concrete information she surrendered was that she had pursued a research career studying Demons in the city of Riverloft during the last year of the war and the two decades that followed. She had done so due to grants she'd received from anonymous benefactors from the city. Riverloft was quickly becoming a bastion city for Demons in the wake of the war, and the local academic community believed that a kinder public and scientific opinion towards them was desperately needed. | During her rise to prominence in the House of Heads, Lindigast's origins were shrouded in mystery. | Much of Lindigast's personal minutia was kept a secret during her time in Torrean government, so much so that many of her contemporaries would routinely launch invasive investigations against her behind closed doors. The Crownsfort's stigma against Demons was alive and well many years into Lindigast's tenure within the House of Heads, and her reported fraternizing with Demons during her studies spawned much conspiracy. Some members of the House, particularly those within the houses of Maxim and Voss, suspected that Lindigast herself was a Demon, despite her human appearance. Luckily, Lindigast was able to surround herself with enough allies within the House that these investigations were rarely able to find any proof of anything that would oust her from the government. There were no known Demons in the House of Heads, and her detractors would surely find a way to remove her from the organization if such a detail was revealed. One of Lindigast's closest friends and defenders at this time was Delphine Hammond, who would later go on to join her in creating the Magic Council. | Much of Lindigast's personal minutia was kept a secret during her time in Torrean government, so much so that many of her contemporaries would routinely launch invasive investigations against her behind closed doors. | After the Great Dusk and the dissolution of the HNC, Lindigast, Hammond, and several other high-echelon members of the House formed a powerful coalition that took the seat of political power within the Crownsfort. Lindigast took over the Maxim Conservatory building, which had served as an inquisitorial headquarters for nearly a century, and turned it into a research bureau for Demonology and Enchantment. The botanical gardens on the building's roof was renovated into an enclave for residential Spirits that opted into research partnerships and study. | After the Great Dusk and the dissolution of the HNC, Lindigast, Hammond, and several other high-echelon members of the House formed a powerful coalition that took the seat of political power within the Crownsfort. During this time with the help of the Envoys, Lindigast cemented a relationship with Erin Faye and the Demon sanctuary city of Cradle, which would allow her to call upon a much stronger base of Demonic culture for her research than what she could access in the Crownsfort. |

| After the Day of Vermin and the Crownsfort's evacuation, Lindigast's network became frayed and she moved south to the town of Brandywine. There, she formally met Johann Grauss, and the two became fast friends. With power in Eastern Torre as fractured as it become, they saw an opportunity to root out the more reactionary forces they knew would attempt to reestablish a HNC-era regime once the Witching Hour was over. With the ensuing arrival of the Envoys, the two hatched a plan to launch a surgical strike against Voss and Prince Taylor, both of whom were held up in a stronghold in Klugmund. | After the Day of Vermin and the Crownsfort's evacuation, Lindigast's network became frayed and she moved south to the town of Brandywine. | | ## Appearance |
| | |
| | Lindigast is an olive-skinned Covre Demon with tall recurved horns. She typically wears a decorated leather overcoat that has several enchantments etched into it. She also wears a wide-brimmed hat that allows her to disguise herself as a human if needed. An eyepatch covers her left eye, which she lost some time before she became a public figure - likely during the war when she was a teenager. |

| | ## Abilities |
| | |
| | Lindigast does not have many combat abilities. Most of her magical power lends to enchanting rituals and building runic machines and structures. However, this allows her to excel in preparatory magic and warding. While she may not be a particularly powerful active combatant, she can bolster allies to reverse the odds before the fighting even starts. |

| While it is clear to many of Lindigast's collaborators that she never intended to be a politician, she has risen to the occasion to the best of her ability and fights for the safety of Demons within Torrean society. | While it is clear to many of Lindigast's collaborators that she never intended to be a politician, she has risen to the occasion to the best of her ability and fights for the safety of Demons within Torrean society. |
